I grow Lunet, Bubbles and Vincent Brussels sprouts and Mokum and Fakkel
carrots. All are from Territorial Seed in Oregon. I've been buying
seed from Territorial since 1983. Their varieties are most suited for
our maritime climate and their catalog is a wealth of information about
NW vegetable gardening. (I noticed that Fakkel is no longer offered by
Territorial -- maybe Merida will be a good substitute for winter
carrots, although they are really spring carrots.)
The company was founded by Steve Solomon in 1980. Steve is the author
of "Growing Vegetables West of the Cascades." Every Pac NW veg gardener
should consider this book their first authority on vegetable gardening.
(Make sure you have the most recent edition. It is effectively a
different book than the earlier ones, since he wrote it after he sold
Territorial to Tom Johns.)
