Hi,
Is anyone growing cumin? I have planted it for the first time this year.
The seeds that were planted directly in the garden had a very poor germination rate, which I attributed to the frequent, heavy rains we have had this year which have compacted the soil.
Germination was much better on the seeds planted in pots indoors, but I am finding the young plants very fragile. I have put them outside in a reasonably sheltered spot with filtered sunlight to harden them off, but they seem extremely susceptible to even light wind and rain. Some are fine, others are fainting.
I was wondering if anyone has any tips on soil requirements or other advice. I love to use cumin seeds in my cooking and am very interested in being able to grow my own.
Many thanks,
Patricia
