Re: Tomato problem I think.


Dear Duncan,
 I am sorry to tell you that this sounds exactly like verticillium wilt,
also known as black stem. Rescue what you can and pull the plant, burn or
bag and send out with the garbage, DO NOT COMPOST TO USE IN THE GARDEN!!!!
Very contagious, can be spread by using same clippers on two different
plants without sterilizing them in between.
