Copper becomes work-hardened ie if drawn out for wire,pipe,sheet etc. it
hardens. Solution is to heat it up (red hot?) and let it cool.
It is relatively valuable as scrap so you may be better off to sell it
and buy really thin strip or sheet, then put this on a backing.....
(haven't we been here before?)
