Try Ronniger's, P. O. Box 307, Ellensburg WA 98926, 800-846-6178. Or Garden
City Seeds, 778 Hwy 93 N, Hamilton MT 59840-9448, 406-961-4837. Both are
pretty cooperative about shipping when you specify. Both also sell seed
potatoes by the pound. Gurney's and Henry Field's have individual coated
(sulfur?) potato eyes usually offered in lots of 30 eyes - and they have
refused to ship until the "correct time for your area". Potatoes in super
markets are often treated to retard sprouting making them inapproiate for
seed but potatoes from farmers' markets may be okay.

In the low desert (USDA Zone 9) we usually plant in January or February and
use as small new potatoes because they become scabby in our alkaline soil if
left in the ground too long. I'm also planning to experiment with fall
planting this year - October/November - and expect to have to occasionally
protect ffrom frost.
