Hi Wendy,
How about using panes of plastic - they are about 1/8 to 1/4" thick- they
come in large or small sheets, and can be cut with a circular saw to fit.
They are clear like glass, and sturdier because they do not break. You can
attach them by pre drilling the holes and inserting wood screws. The "brand
name" escapes me, but you can get it at all the larger home improvement
centers near the lumber.
