I grew 4th of July tomatoes in 1999. They were golf ball size, up to
about 2" diameter but tasted pretty good for an early tomato. Sungolds I
grew last year--tons of them from 2 plants, yet not many made it into
the house, I ate most while working outside in the yard. This year I'm
trying Sun Sugar, supposedly an improved version of Sungold; will wait &
see--how can they improve something that good & prolific?

Subject: first tomatoes
Hi everyone,
The first tomatoes have ripened : one 4th of July tomato and a small
number
of Sun Golds.
The 4th of July tomato is much smaller than I anticipated. I haven't
tasted
it yet. Has anyone grown this one before? The Sun Golds are plump and
delicious.
After a slow start, cucumbers are abundant.
The lettuce has about had it in this 90º+ heat, as have the radishes.
The first melon is coming along nicely.
Happy gardening!
