I have lots of green tomatoes, but none near ripe yet. After complaining
about my zukes, I did find one that actually grew - a couple more days to go
on it. My lettuce is finished too, as are the strawberries and peas.
Surprise of the day - I planted potatoes for the first time this year (a
friend gave them to us all dusted and ready) but didn't expect much because
I planted them too close together to be able to make hills. Well, I went
out today and noticed they were all looking pitiful, esp. the red ones.
What happened? I wondered. Bugs? Lack of rain? Too many weeds? :) Well,
duh - I started digging. Sure enough, I had quite a few taters in there
ready for harvest. It was like digging for buried treasure. :) I thought
they'd take longer than that - now I can use that space for another crop of
beans, if the bunnies don't eat them all like they did the last patch.
