It has to have room for growing, and no hinderence. Also, the sun makes it sweet,as it turns alittle yellow or lighter in color if its red or yellow. As someone added it needs plenty of rich soil.I can only do good on onions,in fall and through the winter, since it gets so hot here in
Southern Mississippi.I just spent the morning picking 2 (5gal.each ) field peas, and snap beans, and got the 3 large wheel barrow of field corn out,for the freezer.I haven't been on this computor much,as planting things, and "care",of them as been work.Field corn will come in next
week(which I love, not so sweet),as the tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, peas, okra, watermellons, and squash.I hope all your gardens and lives are great.I would say,get your soil tested, and get some good Horticulture and books,by Life publishers and "Your gardens will produce. Also plant by
the moon, since it controls ALL THINGS!!! Well, here's to a large plate of cream corn, field peas, cucumbers, tomatoes, corn bread, and plenty of "COLD MILK"!!! I may be Southern, but I'm Very Happy!!!! JIM
