The most active and best established seed-saving organization I'm aware of
is SSE--they don't have their own Web presence but can be reached at 
Seed Savers Exchange
                     3076 North Winn Rd.
                     Decorah, Iowa 52101
and they have alot of resources and different types of membership.
Seeds Blum is another great seed company that promotes heirloom varieties.
They have a new Web site at http://www.seedsblum.com/
