The only special advice about eggshells I'd come across before
is the suggestion that a layer of crushed eggshells on the soil
may deter slugs. Not that it's worked for me... perhaps it's
an organic gardeners' myth? has it worked for anyone else?
(I've never had a problem with rats though. Now if only one
could train rats to eat the slugs!)
