It depends where you live! Roots such as carrots, radishes, beets are
cool weather plants and cole crops such as broccoli, cauliflower,
cabbage and spinach are also winter/spring plants. But this does not
mean they like frozen soil. Light frost is fine. Parsnips like more
frost frost than many of the root veggies. Many of these crops are going
to seed in the south and gulf coast areas.
