Oh, one more thing. If you spray your tomato's foliage with kelp solution,
it will not show damage down to at least 25F (my own experience). Now I
don't know how the plant would react to sustained temp.s below 50F, but
tomatoes just breeze through overnight lows. So you might try that to
bolster your plant while you are doing other things to heat up the
surroundings. Liquid kelp seems expensive - I have an $11.00 bottle - but
it is extremely concentrated; after four years, I have not even used half
the bottle.
