I have spent a fortune on an electric rabbit fence, which worked for a
time until the little horrors got the hang of leaping through the holes
in it. Once off the ground the electric shock did not touch them. I
scrapped that and put in a wire fence, a special grade of wire 1žinch
mesh which is smaller mesh than chicken wire and sold at a special price
in 1050mmx50M (42"x54.7yd) rolls. Get this from an agricultural
supplier or you will pay through the nose for it. This has proved 100%
effective. You will need a straining wire to support the top edge, and
possibly one at the bottom. The bottom edge is turned outwards to make
a barrier against burrowing. I used to bury this until I decided it was
unnecessary, too much work and made alterations/repairs difficult so now
it is spread out and trampled into the ground where it soon becomes
covered naturally. Deer fence is quoted as 75 ins. high and is a form of
stock fencing, I have no experience there.
