hi fellow gardener! although it is still cold, if i were you i would be putting all of my kitchen scraps on that little piece of ground. make some green mulch...take your kitchen scraps and put them in a blender with some water and blend away until the mixture is fairly smooth. pour it all over that piece of ground. if you live near any stables they are usually happy to get rid of a pick-up truck load of manure that you can add to your ground and plow or till under when the ground warms up a little. then this spring plant some rye or something comparable. plow it under next year and your piece of ground is ready for flowers or vegetables. sincerely, jtflash
