Re: garden planning

I have plotted my garden out on graph paper { 1/4" squares } for several
years now. The point of doing this is so you have a record of what you
planted & where you planted it in a given year. Be sure you write which
year it is on your paper. This record serves to remind you to rotate
your crops yearly. If you do not rotate, do not plan on having any kind
of a decent garden for long, due to the fact that certain elements are
depleted from the soil everytime you grow something. Disease factors
into this equation also. If you grow the same crop in the same place
every year, you will most certainly invite disease to take up residence
in your garden. If you allow disease to get a foothold in your garden,
you will not be able to grow that crop for many years to come.
Take it from someone who has been thru this personally and has learned a
very valuable lesson.
