I always lay it out on paper. It ensures I will have space for everything
and also provides a graphic record of what and where everything is planted.
For example; I have planted 3 varieties of muskmelon, 3 of cucumbers, 3 of
snap beans, 9 tomatoes, 5 peppers, etc. and it makes it easy to keep track
of how different varieties are doing. My planting areas are laid out in 40"
X 80" rectangles (about 1m X 2m) with a 16" path between the sections.
