Most likely uneven water supply, aggravated by old age. If radish are
more than 3 or at the most 4 weeks old, other than in the winter, they
won't be worth eating. Look out also for the thick stemmed ones when
they get older, they will never be worth eating.
So far my fishbox (container) radish have very few split ones, they have
a constant water supply by a wick system. French Breakfast is the tricky
one, the globes are easier.
