Territorial Seed Company's winter catalog has purple sprouting and
several other winter/spring harvest vegetables. They are best suited to
a Maritime climate. In the US that would be the west coast from
Northern CA up to maybe the Queen Charlottes - west of the Cascade
range. Also some NE coastal areas may have a maritime climate as well.
Most of the rest of the US regions are "continental", "Mediterranean",
sub-tropical or various types of dry desert or savannah climates.
Winter brassicas would probably not do well in these areas but some of
the autumn varieties would produce well.
