Killing Tent Worms

Hi folks,

Time for me to tap into the group's database of arcane knowledge. We
have a TON of tent worms around this time of year. Usually this is no
problem as they tend to attack the much larger trees out in the pasture.
These trees manage to fight through these attacks just fine. However,
this year the Tent Worms have found our little Apple Tree that we have
right next to our house. To make matters worse they have attached
themselves near the base of one of the tree's larger limbs. (And there's
really not that many large limbs on this tree as it is.) So my question
today is can I get rid of the worms on this tree *without* having to cut
that limb off the tree? At this point the nest/tent is still small. They
started it within the last week or two.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Gareth
