Here's two ideas,

If you can break through the tent, you can spray Bt on the caterpillars.
Once they ingest it, you should see good control.

I also heard that using Tanglefoot around the trunks will help prevent their
spread as the adults tend to crawl up and  down the trunks.  I wouldn't put
the Tanglefoot directly on the trunk though - maybe on a piece of cloth or
tape that's wrapped around the trunk.  Makes for easier cleaning & removal.
