Hello there,
You can open the nest and spray the insides with BT.
it is a bacteria that the worms ingest as they eat the leaves,  which
causes them to sicken and die. It affects all caterpillars so be carefull
where you apply it.
It is harmless to the rest of the insect kingdom. I have been using it on
and off  for 18 years. You also need to find a good book on fruit
growing..  Dormant oil sprayed on the trees in the fall and again at bud
swell would have prevented this infestation.
