Drip Tape Question

Does anybody have experience using drip tape to water veggies. It comes
in 4,100 to 7,500 foot rolls and is used mainly to irrigate field crops
but I've seen it recently it 100 foot rolls which would be a better
quantity for gardens. One brand is called "T-Tape" which is available
in discharge rates of .13, .27, .20 or .40 gph/ft with emitters spaced
at 4, 8 or 12 inches along the tape. I would be interested in a
comparison with the porous soaker hoses with respect to uniformity of
water distribution, effect of salt and mineral accumulation on the
surface of the tape and how well thaey hold up to uv exposure.
