I think you could probably get away with a 4x4 plot but an 8x8 would work
fine. A couple of good early varieties are Precocious and Extra Early
Illini. I grew Kandy Kwik last year and will be planting it at two
intervals. I was really impressed with it's performance. Nice sized cobs
that filled out nicely and people begged for more. I know they have
different varieties in the states but you are not that far from me. FWIW
