Re: Radish Question

Finally, a subject I know a little something about.

Your French "breakfast" radishes are exactly the size they should be!

I've been growing this type of radish for several years now. I loved
these little bite-sized radishes when I was in France and originally
brought my seeds home from there, But now I buy the type of seed marked
"French Breakfast" and get exactly the same, bite-sized, yummy roots.

I never have figured out why they call them "breakfast" radishes. The
same radish seed in France is called "radis demi long" (half-long
radishes). There is another radish that looks the same but is larger
and is simply called "radis" (radish). I still have some French seed
for the larger radishes but haven't tried growing them yet.

I've checked my Burpee seed packet for the French Breakfast type, as
well as the seed packet from NK Lawn & Garden, and neither actually says
how large the radishes will become. Did your information come from the
packet or from the seed catalog?
