My remedy is two fingers & a strong stomach! I have been tending a recently
acquired 15-year old asparagus bed & learned quickly how to "pick" (aka
"squish") the little beetles. The first ones I saw were black with orange
spots down the back, more recently I've seen orange ones with black dots.
You have to be quick & sure with your "picking" technique, because they will
see you coming & the black ones will drop quickly to the ground & the orange
ones will fly away.
