Pumpkins- how many per vine?

Hi guys, my pumpkin is about done I think.No more new babies on the vine though it is still producing male flowers.I am just curious, how many pumpkins should we expect per vine?I got only 3 but dont deserve more as I pretty much neglected it till it actually started producing.Next year I'd like to do better though.I planted the Jap variety(teardrop) though I might try something else-Jarrahdale would be neat if I could get seeds......
