Good Day to you, Arzeena. Thanks for the info re difference between runner and pole beans. I did not know that. However the pole beans will grow a lot better if plenty of well rotted compost is added to the soil previously and the trench method I outlined will only serve to do them a power of good, dont you agree? If I can find a space in my patch, I may try some polebeans next year. Cheers for now, Dave in Pudsey.
