I'm thinking of purchasing some more trees, shrubs, and groundcovers
for the yard (when am I NOT thinking of that :), so I thought I'd run
my ideas by the list and see if anyone has any input. I'm in USDA
zone 5b, E. Central Illinois -- hot dry summers and cold winters
with little snowcover. I have a wooded area in back, mostly older
spruces, firs, and pine trees. The front of the house is in full sun.
Irrigation is an option.
Dirca palustris I asked about this a while back, but
thought I'd run it by everyone once
again.
Parrotia persica 'Pendula' As I understand it, there are good and
bad plants out under this label. Anyone
have experience with these?
Weigela maximowiczii
Salix x grahamii 'Moorei' Looking for dwarf groundcover willows.
Any other recommendations?
Salix hylomatica
Pterostyrax hispida Already have, but looking for comments
Thanks in advance for any input...
Chris
