Re: fly repellant plants
The offending spirea was Spiraea x vanhoutte, the old-fashioned bridal
wreath. It is pollinated by flies and should never be planted close to a
house for that reason. Of course, our house came with a huge old one by
the back door as no one knew those things then. I can verify that it
draws flies!!
