Prune Red-twigged Dogwood Bush

I have a one-year old red-twigged dogwood bush which is about 2 1/2'
high. Many branches/twigs/stems are brilliant red and I have read that
it is new wood that turns this red color in winter. When and how much
should I trim or prune to get this effect next year?

Thanks.
