RE: spirea Mellow Yellow


Cheryl,

Yeah, give it a try.  Spireas are easy,  and it is a lovely plant.  I loved
it while I had it, more so than the other golden spireas.  We usually have
reliable snowcover,  it was just a colder than average winter that got it.
Planting it out of the wind might help.  I think that it is so close to
being hardy here, that if you are even a degree or two milder, it will be
successful.

I think I'll give it a whirl anyway. At $20, I won't be out much.
Did you have snow cover the year you lost it? I will have to re-site
the home though, I was going to put it at the bottom of the hill, now
I'll put it nearer the house.
