Chris, I am in the Des Moines metro area. I am not familiar with Longwood 
Sunset but have always liked this tree for its berries however I do not know 
of a single Sorbus around this area but remember I very nice one in the 
Amanas.  They are not available here in our nurseries and maybe it is just a 
matter of supply.
I have a Magnolia 'Butterflies' that I really like and would fit your 
requirements but again is not found in our nurseries.
