Re: Privacy Hedge


Just my personal oppinion but I always find that planting all one plant in a
hedge, while looking good at the start, eventually leads to the 'one dead
shrub' problem.  Why not a mix of evergreen and deciduous, you could
alternate them:

        *       *       *       
    %     %      %      %

Put varigated or flowering deciduous plants in front and evergreens in back.
That way, you can put in smaller evergreens because judiciously chosen
deciduous plants will grow faster and help provide the privacy in the summer
when you're most likely to be out there.
