Re: Opinions please.

An executive order cannot force nurseries not to sell stuff, a law is
required. An executive order can keep national parks, government
landscaping, etc. from developing/introducing/selling these plants.
Remember, both kudzu and honeysuckle was recommended by a government
agency! The president, by himself, can only effect government
institutions and contracts, not the public.

I think the voluntary system should be tried first, and if that doesn't
work then a law will be required. When in doubt keep the government out
:-) The bottom line is that we need to address the issue of the
continued selling of invasive species. I can't say that I know of the
best way, but I am willing to listen to all proposals.

Mark,
Who do you feel is the appropriate agency to handle this
issue?
Are you willing to give that agency feed-back?Before/after the
fact of implementation?

It hardly sounds as though it would be voluntary if Clinton is
considering putting this under Executive Order.
          Connie
