* Thuja plicata 'Holly Turner' is a previously unknown dwarf form of
western red cedar that will be listed in Dan Hinkley's Heronswood
Nursery catalog next month. It was named for Whidbey, Wash., resident
Holly Turner, an avid gardener who died recently of complications of
Lou Gehrig's disease. The normal form of western red cedar is a
graceful, tall tree while the new 'Holly Turner' flows horizontally
along the ground and is small enough for any size of garden. The dwarf
conifer was discovered by Dana Moffett, owner of wholesale nursery Lone
Lake Growers, and a longtime friend of Turner. Heronswood Nursery,
