Beats me for where you are but here in Texas the power company is free
to butcher trees whenever and wherever it pleases. :-(

This makes me want to cry.

Well, an possible alternative is to have your power lines installed
underground, eliminating the overhead lines and poles. I realize this
is expensive but not as expensive as those trees are worth!
You might do some math, figuring how much it costs the power company to
pay the tree cutters, operate the trucks that haul the branches off,
land fill fees, etc.. Convince the power company to give you credit for
x number of times their crew will have to come cut over a period of x
years. Ask them to reduce your installation costs of underground cable,
saving them money in the long run. :-)
Good luck!
