Does anyone have any experience with Acer pentaphyllum in cold climates?
Vertrees book suggests only marginal hardiness, but some plant sources
(Mountain Maples and Forest Farm, for instance) imply hardiness into Zone 6.
Has anyone Zone 6 or colder tried to grow this beautiful maple? I've been
growing one in a container for about five years, which I've dutifully lugged
into the garage every winter. I don't have the courage yet to try it
outdoors. I'd be grateful to hear of anyone else's experience.
