Re: Viburnums experiences please.

I grow or grew the following viburnums (and a few others I have yet to
cataloge).
I have placed asterisks by the ones I particularly like. Also some
comments/experiences.

* Viburnum acerifolium - excellent pink/purple fall color
* Viburnum alnifolium - excellent native with big leaves and early flowers
Viburnum betulifolium - did not prosper, then died
Viburnum burkwoodii - drought tolerant and fragrant
    Viburnum carlesi - fragrant
* Viburnum cassinoides - native here, excellent form and fall color
    Viburnum dentatum - native here
    Viburnum dilitatum 'Eire'- good foliage
* Viburnum dilitatum Michael Dodge - good foliage, should have yellow
berries but none yet
Viburnum dilitatum 'Aisian Beauty' - too new to comment but descriptions
sound great
 * Viburnum X juddii - good foliage and berries
    Viburnum lantana
    Viburnum lentago
Viburnum nudum - to polinate Winterthur
* Viburnum nudum "Winterthur" - beautiful foliage and fall color
* Viburnum opulus Nanum - excellent form and foliage
* Viburnum opulus 'Roseum' - great flowers
Viburnum opulus 'Xanthocarpum' -yellowish berries of course, mine still
small but gets big
* Viburnum plicatum 'Pink Beauty' - very nice but not really pink
* Viburnum plicatum var. tomentosum 'Mariesii' - excellant foliage,
flowers and fruit, all plicatum need moisture
* Viburnum plicatum var. tomentosum 'Shasta' - excellant foliage, flowers
and fruit
Viburnum plicatum var. tomentosum 'Summer Snowflake' - long bloomer,
nice form
Viburnum rudifulum 'Royal Guard' - very slow to establish for me
* Viburnum sargentii 'Onondaga' - Interesting 2-tones flowers and good
fruit
* Viburnum sieboldii - big, excellant foliage and fruit, grows fast!
Viburnum trilobum Wentworth - not great winter form but otherwise good,
berries last
Viburnum wrightii - nice foliage and berries
Viburnum "Cayuga" - seems nice and compact, good foliage and flowers

I like them all, except betulifolium which died and dentatum which is weedy
here, and the one that grow around.
The groups I like best are plicatum and dilitatum.

Hope this helps
