I know this subject has come up before, but... I am planning on putting
up a dog run on my property and it will border the road. I would like to
plant a hedge between the fence and the road. There is acutally lots of
space as the fence will be some 30 back from the road. But, the area in
question is quite shaded by apple trees and white pine trees. I do have
a clethra I will probably move to that area as it will be in the way of
the fence. ANy other suggestions? I would like fairly quick growth if
possible. And we will not be abel to see these from the house, so they
don;t have to look particularly ornamental. But, I will be pasturing
sheep nearby so poisonous shrubs like rhododendrums and that family are
not a possibility. I live in zone 5 in western Massachusetts.
Thanks for any suggestions.
