Re: Sources for large Clematis plants

Tall enough to have sufficient foliage in excess of 34", the height of the evergreens. I don't have a great deal of room to plant the clematis between the trellis and the evergreens. The 3 trellises are about 8' high and 4' wide. 4 hours of morning sun. Will sacrifice abundant blooms to have them in this location. Am hoping for long term blooming periods. Preference is for darker blues with as little mauve as possible. Large flowering, if possible. If only C. durandii were a robust, tall climber, it would be perfect. There are some which will tolerate less sun so my initial focus would be on that, length of bloom time and height. They'll be on the front of the house. Thanks for responding!

Do you want some that are old enough to be stable on their root system, or outright *large*?  And which ones are you looking for?

Subject: Sources for large Clematis plants

Can anyone recommend a source for large clematis plants, i.e., along the lines of 3 years old? I hope there is such a vendor.

Thanks so much.
