I only began to notice them last year, but relatively few so far. ÂGuess Iâll just have to keep my eyes open for them. ÂOther than that, donât have a problem with much of anything during the summer â only when I bring my tropicals inside for the winter (mites and mealybugs, mostly). ÂIf I have problems, I may use the systemic imidacloprid, since I would be able to limit the application to this one plant because of the location.
Last year was the worst I have had them and it was bad. I am going to do the soil drench for my linden, birch and katsura this year. This past season I covered my weeping larch with a lite wt row cover stitched up the side to make a sleeve and I will try to cover my green beans with row covers next season. In Feb I will be attending Iowa States Shade Tree Short course and am registered for a JB control class.
