Re: dwarf chinquapin oak


Two other small tough oaks are Q. marylandica 
(Blackjack Oak) and Q. illicifolia (Bear Oak).  Marylandica
is probably not hardy in Nebraska but does OK here in
middle Z5.  Bear Oak is native into Maine.  I suspect
it will do fine in at least Z4.
