Re: Understory Plantings, was list shutdown?


I have a similar situation although the fence is chain link and so air
circulation is pretty good despite the gloomy light and dryish soil.  In
my spot if have planted hemlock (and provided additonal water and
fert.)and Japanese quince  (which does VERY well w/o extra care.
At ground level I planted hosta which do fine on their own and the
varigated leaves brighten up the area.  good luck.
