I'm in Salt Lake City Utah.  We range from USDA Zone 4 in the foot hills

David-- Where do you live?  What zone?  Thanks for the moisture
information.
My friend's yard is irrigated, but this particular area might not be,
I'll
check.  The Euonymus  are at the top of a slope, so moisture could well
be a
factor.  Thanks.
