Euonymus alatus 'Monstrosus'

Years ago I remembered seeing in a Wayside catalog, a photograph of a
cultivar of Euonymus alatus that was labeled as 'Monstrosus'. I have not
seen it available since in any catalog. The photo showed incredibly large
corky wings, nearly an inch or so, much larger than typical for the
species. Does anyone know of a source for this plant? If you are growing
it, are the wings as big as the picture or is this another example of a
re-touched photo creating a desire for a plant that can never be fulfilled.
