Ach!  I think I'm going to have to stop responding to messages until I can
think about what I'm writing!  I had it half right -- I said that it
flowered on new growth, so should be pruned right after flowering.  

<SIGH>  Sorry about the confusion...  The sentence obviously should have
said that "it flowers on old growth, so should be pruned right after
flowering."  :(

I know that it's not supposed to be particularly vigorous (as is the
case with many variegated plants).  I'm growing one primarily for the
foliage, but am hoping that with some good protection and pH
monitoring that I can get some decent blooms.  I'll see how I fare
this winter, and if that doesn't work I may pot it up and keep it in 
the attached garage over winter.
