Re: Cicada damage

I did that, but they were newly planted flowering crabs and it was the hottest
June ever--felt more like August--and the trees actually burned under the
netting.  I couldn't believe the netting could trap heat like that.  A few
cicadas did get through the bottom of the net but no extensive damage from
them.  Eight years later the trees are fully recovered and quite nice, but at
the time I thought the cure was worse than the ailment.
