Re: woodyplants DIGEST V1 #24

Taxodium distichum - bald cypress This tree is not for a lawn situation
because there are "knees" everywhere. I like them in my bog but would hate
to mow or walk on them. I have the pond cypress also but it does not grow
as fast. Read that as very slow. I grew it from seed and now I have
several in pots that are catching up with the older one.
The Buttercup Coryopsis is a nice little shrub that grows well for me in
sandy acid soil and seems to be drought resistant. It seems all the
witchhazels grow well for me but then the native one was there first. All
of the plants that are in that family seem to like my creek land.
