RE: butterfly bush


The strange thing is that the "ordinary" ones are the only ones not showing some sign of life. The yellow and pink ones are starting to sprout!

Wait til June anyway.  They may sprout from near the base and they do grow
fast.  If it sprouts, cut out the dead wood.

I live in Zone 4b in Ontario, Canada and Butterfly bushes are not reliably
hardy here.  After several attempts, I have had to accept that they are
simply annuals.  You are probably a few degrees milder than us, so your
chances of success may be a little better.  It would be best to plant one
next to a south wall, if you try one again.
